Laser tag (laser paintball) is a team-based tactical game resembling computer shooters. Players are equipped with vests with sensors and a microprocessor that register hits on different parts of the body, as well as realistically rendered weapons (e.g., UZI, M3) with a laser sight. The vests signal hits with sound and light, allow for team differentiation, and increase game immersion. The weapons have limited ammunition, require reloading, and allow switching between fire modes (sniper, automatic, shotgun), which affects strategy. The system is managed by a central unit with software that allows for scenario configuration and detailed post-game analysis: number of hits, accuracy, ammunition consumption, etc. Statistics can be printed or sent by e-mail.
